On the road to net-zero
In 2025, our near- and long-term net-zero targets were validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), confirming they're aligned with the global 1.5°C pathway.
Using 2023 as our baseline, we're targeting a 58.8% absolute reduction in Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions by 2034, on our way to a 90% reduction by 2050.
Manufacturing at Opella
At Opella we believe in science-proven ingredients that enable natural movements in your gut, and all our products are produced following FDA Good Manufacturing Practices requirements, in a strictly controlled environment.
Climate action
In 2025, Opella has reduced emissions by 70% for Scopes 1 and 2 versus 2019. The group uses 100% renewable electricity in operations.
Waste reduction and Water efficiency improvement
In 2025 Opella achieved zero waste to landfill at all 11 eligible manufacturing sites.
Optimizing water use is an essential practice at Opella. By upgrading equipment for greater efficiency and optimizing water consumption for water-intensive activities, such as cleaning, we have reduced water withdrawal by 2.8% compared with 2024.

Certified Packaging
We're on a journey toward more sustainable packaging for our products.
Our cartons are manufactured using FSC or SFI certified materials that follow practices to ensure our forests are protected.
SFI Certification
Dulcolax cartons display The Sustainable Forestry Initiative logo to signify that our cartons have been sourced and manufactured in an environmentally responsible manner. This certification reflects that the paperboard source for our cartons comes from noncontroversial sources in the supply chain (recycled content, certified forests, and small family forest owners).
