These laxatives stimulate the colon's muscles. Recent studies show that
laxatives containing Bisacodyl, such as Dulcolax®, promote intestinal function by relaxing some muscles
while stimulating others. Sodium Picosulphate, the active ingredient in Dulcolax® drops, has a similar effect.
